Holiday Gift Ideas and Guidelines for Neighbors And Co Workers

Holiday shopping for family and friends is something that we all know and plan for once the first leaf starts turning brown. People start planning and doing their holiday shopping as early as October in an attempt to benefit from the fall sales and the holiday sales. Shopping for family is always the priority because the budget for individual family members is always bigger and they’re ususally get more than one gift.

People who we often leave to shop for at the last minute are co-workers or neighbors and people often question what they can get for their neighbors without appearing o be cheap or rude. The same goes for co-workers. Not every person in your office will expect a personal gift, and sometimes you don’t even have to give them a gift. Thanksgiving gifts are something that you don’t usually get your co-workers, but you’ll take a pumpkin pie or some coffee mix over to your neighbors.

While food is the gift of choice when you’re sending something to large groups of people, there are some things that you’ll want to avoid. Christmas gift baskets are popular but they’ll only work if the contents can be shared easily. Christmas fruit baskets or fresh fruit bouquets and arrangements are a much better idea because they’re easy to share with co-workers and also because they look beautiful. Avoid things like boxes of candy cane or cookies. Few people get excited about candy once Halloween is over. Thanksgiving and Christmas is the time when food like meat pies and soups is preferred, but it all depends on whether or not you’re willing to cook for your co-workers.
